 Practical info

What will LUUK look like?

At LUUK we wish to maintain a relationship to practices through which artistic processes and research take place. We ask presenters to think carefully about how to communicate their artistic processes in a way that hones a balance between the reality of practice and contextual framing (socio-political, cultural, theoretical etc).

We offer three time frames which support various presentation formats
  • 30-minute presentation including text, sound, visuals
    (including 10 min discussion)

  • 45-minute presentation including facilitation of an activity / experience / experiment (including 15 min of discussion)

  • 90-minute presentation including workshop / experiment / multimodal sharing / lecture-performance etc (including 15 min discussion)

Copper Leg Residency has multiple venues to choose for presentation, including the big hall, attic, cellar, sauna and open air. Please consider how the presentation content relates to the chosen location. Whereas we are welcoming of different creative presentation formats, the set up process should be relatively easy and swift. Basic AV is provided (sound and screen).

Presenters will receive a fee relative to the length of their presentations.

Copper Leg Residency is located outside of Tallinn (Estonia) and requires a short bus or car ride. We encourage people to stay the night for the full experience.

Accommodation will take place in the rooms of the residency building, which means sleeping in proximity with other participants. Everybody is asked to bring sleeping bags and mattresses (and tents if one pleases).

The conference includes 4 meals (1 breakfast, 2 lunches, 1 dinner, coffee and snacks)

LUUK is a humble and down-to-earth happening. Whereas the event has an existing frame and organizing bodies, we all share in responsibility to take care of ourselves, each other, the venue and the flow of the event.
The physical venue itself is our partner and it has its affordances and limitations, like we all do.
